The African fashion is intertwined with its culture, and as such it is represented through textile, design and styling. How an african dresses usually forms part of their identity and it is also a form of self expression.

DIDIER’S design concept is explained as a close examination of Alte-fashion and its relationship with anti-fashion. This concept seeks to identify the ideological similarities between alte fashion and anti-fashion, drawing inspiration from both concepts and infusing them with african cultural design methods and ideologies to create something uniquely african, identifiable by its forms, elements and methods of execution as would be shown in the final collection outfits.

Didier’s design concept is born from his afrofusion ideologies and anti-fashion sentimentality, exemplified by a rebellious and curious spirit, always seeking to challenge and change what came before it.

I WANT PEOPLE TO FEEL REPRESENTED WHEN THEY WEAR MY GARMENTS OR ACCESSORIES

“I WANT MY GARMENTS TO HAVE A STRONG SENSE OF IDENTITY AND REPRESENTATION THAT IS DEFINED WITHIN didier’s PHILOSOPHIES AND IDENTITY”

Alte fashion is a concept that combines style, music, art, and fashion to produce a subculture with a unique identity and representation.

Alte fashion was still mostly restricted to the Nigerian fashion and art scenes at the time this study was being put together, therefore it has not yet managed to enter mainstream fashion.

Young Nigerians’ interest in older fashion is steadily shifting as a result of the current development of cultural confidence and the significance of personal identity and representation, which they describe as the new “cool.”

This action is gradually changing the way everyone views fashion in Nigeria, upsetting the usually conservative landscape of the nation. A growing number of young individuals see old fashion as an unrestricted form of self expression.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference. Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
